Trade-ins become even easier

On 1 April 2026 the rules for changes of ownership are simplified as the requirement to handle the registration certificate at trade-in is removed.

Previously, car dealers had to collect the vehicle's registration certificate to make a change of ownership - and if the documentation was missing, the car owner had to order a new one. The fact that trade-ins now become a more digitalised process is fully in line with the development that we at Bilvision have helped drive for many years.

• Although the rule change primarily concerns our customers' end customers, it shows a development already underway in the vehicle industry; reducing paperwork and manual steps, and moving toward more digital and efficient flows. Removing the requirement for physical registration certificates really eases the change-of-ownership process for both dealers and car owners.
